1. Lecture 1 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM

    Hideyuki Ando (Associate professor, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University)

Title: Learning the Technology through IVRC


I talk about history and present of IVRC that I worked in as contestant and staff.

My life is stand by IVRC, and my work is based on IVRC.



2. Lecture 2  10:30 AM – 11:00 AM

    Frantz Lasorne (Graduated University: L’École de Design Nantes Atlantique / Presence & innovation lab, Arts et métiers ENSAM Angers-Laval)

Title: SCOPE : Augmented Reality Toys


This project is about how Augmented Reality (AR) can provide new ways of interactions to serve the gaming  experience with tangible traditional toys. Virtual content is added to enhance the limited real capacity of toys to offer new perspectives of play. Video games and traditional tangible toys have different strengths that augmented reality can merge to improve existing games or create new ones. By an attribution of various virtual parameters commonly used in video games like power, life, magic, experience, attack, weapons etc. it possible to bring tangible toys to life. With a system like this, it becomes possible to imagine all sorts of games featuring the toy at the center of a video game mixed with the real world such as a child's bedroom creating a natural battleground for play.



3. Lecture 3  11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

    Grégoire Cliquet (Pédagogie Design d'Interactivite Enseignement 3D temps réel / Virtool)

Title: Education of VR and design in France


I describe education of Virtual Reality and design using VR in France.

Then, the commonness and the difference between Japan and France are discussed from the standpoint of educator as an impression that visits IVRC.



4. Lecture 4  11:30 AM – 12:00 AM

    Akihiko Shirai ( communicator, Miraikan(National museum of emerging science and innovation )

Title: Act as Communicator at Miraikan

- The aim of the Miraikan

- How Miraikan influence and affected by IVRC.

- The exhibition that was difficult to display, and that received well by visitors are discussed.

- What visitors request for exhibits.

    Darold Davis( Aaron Marcus and Associates, Inc.)

Title: Human Interface Design from Business Enterprise Point of View


I work in the business that designs of Human Interface now.

I describe the problem when the interface is designed in the current GUI environment.

I describe IVRC from the viewpoint of the enterprise.

I talk about the view of the human interface that the society will be requesting in the future.



7. Lecture 6  1:30 PM – 2:00 PM

    Masato Takahashi (Ph. D. candidate, Keio University Graduate School of
Media Design, JSPS Research Fellow)

Title: Instruments for Organic Sound and Movement

The summary of my study is to realize organic sound and movement with
soft materials and soft actuators.
I talk about my research works.

9. Student Project 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    Presentation of Student Projects of

    “Introduction to exercises on information engineering for interactive creation” Class


Student groups present the plan and Ideas of project for next IVRC.

Students talk about their own plan and novelty of their Ideas that they will challenge.

And panelists make comments and advices.
